Skiing Experience
I fell in love with skiing when skis were long, straight and skinny, Franz Klammer was the 'man', and ski instructors were considered Gods. Naturally, I never imagined that one-day, I too would become such a deity... haha!

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure to ski in many countries including Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Andorra, Scotland, England, America (including Alaska), New Zealand, and Japan.

Frankly, I love my ‘job’, my ‘work’, the ‘office’, and everything else skiing offers; I haven’t discovered a more enjoyable pursuit. And, I’m super keen to help you experience the magic skiing can bring to your life!
Teaching / Guiding Experience
We all have a preferred learning style, so whether you're a beginner or an expert, fearful or adventurous, enjoy going fast or slow, desire a technical program or simply being guided around the area - I'll adapt to meet your needs and requirements... just let me know what you want to achieve!

For the last eight winters, I've worked in Austria for two of the oldest ski schools in the world. Those being, Rote Teufel (Red Devils) Skischool in Kitzbuhel, and more recently Skischool Arlberg of St. Anton, which was founded by Hannes Schneider who also helped establish skiing in Japan - especially Nozawa Onsen. I’ve also worked for other ski schools in Kaprun and Warth, in Austria. I spent two years ski guiding in Les Trois Vallées, France, which is the largest connected ski area in the world.

I'm qualified with the Austrian (OSV), and the American (PSIA) professional ski instructor organisations.
Other Info
I'm British/English, and have taught, coached, and guided people from all over the world. In fact, teaching, training, coaching, leading and helping people succeed have always played an important role in my life - both professionally and otherwise.

Essentially I’m a people-person, highly empathetic with good communication skills; a 'problem solver' with a diverse background in business, art, photography and I'm a professional scuba diving instructor.

We visited Nozawa with another family for a week and our youngest children had a lesson with Nic each morning for 3 hours. Their improvement and confidence by the end of the week was amazing, we were so happy. A number of the adults had a lesson with Nic in the afternoon to tune up, and in my experience it was excellent (even skied in trees!) - just wish I had done it earlier in the week. Nic was so accommodating. Thanks again Nic.

I've been skiing for thirty years (mostly telemark) but took an alpine lesson to sharpen up my form. Nic was awesome! He quickly diagnosed my bad habits and gave me some really great drills that I could immediately feel improving my turns. Really great investment for my next 20 years of skiing.
