Skiing Experience
Zach hails from Colorado. He has been training as a professional guide with the AMGA (American Mountain Guide Association). Guiding in Japan for 3 years.
Before working as a professional guide with the AMGA he was a sponsored athlete, ski patroller, and a outdoor medic (EMT). He rode as a professional athlete on the Freeride World Qualifiers and traveled internationally for three years on the circuit. This is his third season guiding in Japan and will be working with Whiteroom Guides based in Furano.
Teaching / Guiding Experience
He has spent the past seven years living between New Zealand, North America, and Japan, while working as a ski/splitboard guide, patroller, medic, along with guiding MTB tours. He currently holds:

-AMGA Level I Ski Guide
-Avalanche Forecaster in Hokkaido, Japan
-Avalanche 1 & 2
-Avalanche Pro 1 Bridge Certifications
(American Avalanche Institute)
-Emergency Medical Technician since 2012
valid through 2021
-Crevasse Rescue
